Basketball Recap: Mauston Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

Mauston won the last time they faced Nekoosa and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mauston Golden Eagles took down the Nekoosa Papermakers 53-34. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Papermakers are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mauston is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Nekoosa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mauston will venture away from home to square off against La Crosse Logan at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for La Crosse Logan: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Mauston has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road. Nekoosa has already played their next match (against Black River Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
