Softball Recap: Powell County Has No Trouble Against Buckhorn

Powell County won the last time they faced Buckhorn and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Powell County Pirates were the clear victor by an 18-4 margin over the Buckhorn Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Powell County let Marti Kirk and Zaley Strange run wild. Kirk scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4, while Strange went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Emma Rison was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Powell County's record now sits at 2-0. As for Buckhorn, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Powell County will venture away from home to take on Lynn Camp at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Buckhorn, they will take on Fairview at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
