Basketball Game Preview: Del Valle Cardinals vs. Bowie Bulldogs

Del Valle hasn't had much luck against Bowie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Del Valle Cardinals will be playing at home against the Bowie Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Del Valle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Del Valle earned a 59-48 win over Austin. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Maroons are ranked 750th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bowie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-39 to Lake Travis. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Del Valle, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Del Valle was taken down by Bowie 82-48 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Del Valle was down 47-19.
