Softball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Central City Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central City, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-11 loss against Lone Tree on the 7th. As for Central City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Alburnett on the 9th.
