Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Owensboro Catholic

Owensboro Catholic won against Greenwood last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Owensboro Catholic came out on top against the Naperville Central Redhawks by a score of 6-2. Winning may never get old, but the Aces sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Luke Quinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Owensboro Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Owensboro Catholic's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Murphy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Mason Moser, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Owensboro Catholic back to even at 5-5. As for Naperville Central, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Owensboro Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Naperville Central: the pair will be back at it again later today.
