Soccer Game Preview: Dixie vs. Westside

The Dixie Hornets will challenge the Westside Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Dixie's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Strom Thurmond 3-0. Considering Dixie have won 11 games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Nicole Hersherger and Adyson Ashley scored all three of Dixie's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five contest, Westside brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Southside on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for Westside as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Dixie pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those eight games. As for Westside, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Dixie was able to grind out a solid win over Westside in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 2-0. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
