The Perkiomen Valley Vikings will face off against the Bristol Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Perkiomen Valley came up short against Pennridge and fell 13-10. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Andrew Keenan put in work no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Keenan was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, John Ott was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Autovino, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Perkiomen Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Bristol lost 8-1 to New Hope-Solebury on Saturday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Like Perkiomen Valley, Bristol also got a great game from a two-way player: Cole Guy. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Guy was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Guy wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Scancella, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Perkiomen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bristol, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
