Softball Recap: Apollo Comes Up Short

Apollo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 34-1 to the Shadow Ridge Stallions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stallions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 last Friday.

Apollo's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Shadow Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season.

Apollo and Shadow Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Hawks will take on Pinnacle at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (188 vs. 18). Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge (ranked 42nd) will meet O'Connor (ranked second) at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
