The Wellsboro Hornets will face off against the Coudersport Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Coudersport will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Wellsboro extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over North Penn-Liberty. The Hornets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).
Wellsboro not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept North Penn-Liberty between 18 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.

Wellsboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddy Cruttenden, who had 19 digs and three assists. Cruttenden has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Main, who had 14 digs and 14 assists.
Meanwhile, Coudersport made easy work of Smethport on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
While Coudersport won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-23.
Wellsboro better keep an eye on Laney Stimaker. She was instrumental in Coudersport's win, getting 11 digs, eight kills, and two aces.
Coudersport was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive matches.
Wellsboro's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Coudersport, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
