It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wilcox County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Taylor County Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 58-40. The Patriots are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 24 straight.

Wilcox County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyliah Benjamin, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 25 boards. Benjamin has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 19 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamauri Martin, who posted 27 points and four steals.

Wilcox County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 28 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Wilcox County pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Taylor County, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-4.
