Basketball Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils vs. Pensacola Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils will jump right back in to play the Pensacola Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Mortimer Jordan earned a 58-46 win over Paul W. Bryant. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Stampede are ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pensacola had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-23 victory over the Valley Cubs. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 33 points or more this season.

Mortimer Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Pensacola, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
