Baseball Recap: Gadsden Wins Going Away Against Parkland

Gadsden's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 13-4 margin over the Parkland Matadors. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Alonso Rodriguez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Steven Morales, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

The victory got Gadsden back to even at 1-1. As for Parkland, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Gadsden will look to defend their home field on Friday against Burges at 9:00 a.m. As for Parkland, they will take on Anthony in a tournament on Friday.
