Basketball Recap: Christopher Harper's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bentworth over Clairton

Bentworth's game on Tuesday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clairton Bears. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bentworth's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Harper, who posted 18 points. Harper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Hays, who put up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Bentworth was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bentworth's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Clairton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Bentworth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-52 victory against California on the 10th. Clairton has also already played their next contest, a 63-60 defeat against Carrick on the 9th.
