Volleyball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

The Poway Titans will face off against the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Poway is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since March 19th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Carlsbad. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Westview.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Rancho Bernardo sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 16-26, 15-13.

Rancho Bernardo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Poway, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Poway took their victory against Rancho Bernardo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
