Basketball Recap: Matawan Regional Piles Up the Points Against Liberty

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Matawan Regional). They blew past the Liberty Lions 46-8 on Sunday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Matawan Regional's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Liberty, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Matawan Regional will host Rahway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Matawan Regional has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Liberty, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Liberty Lions challenge the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
