Garfield won the last time they faced Holy Names Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Holy Names Academy. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Hannah Arimura made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Sammy Breckenridge looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Garfield let Mae Valenta and Nina Breckenridge run wild. Valenta went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run, while Breckenridge got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Breckenridge a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Washington, who went 2-for-5 with two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield will venture away from home to take on Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Names Academy, they will head out to face off against Nathan Hale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
