Volleyball Game Preview: Waukesha North Northstars vs. Arrowhead Warhawks

Waukesha North is 0-10 against Arrowhead since September of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Northstars will head out on the road to challenge the Warhawks at 9:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Waukesha North extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ariel Thao. The Northstars blew past Shorewood 3-0 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Thao, who had five aces and four digs. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Arrowhead made easy work of Muskego on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Warhawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Arrowhead won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 26-24.

Arrowhead's win bumped their record up to 23-13. As for Waukesha North, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Waukesha North has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Arrowhead struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Waukesha North might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Arrowhead in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Northstars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
