Basketball Game Preview: Pocahontas Redskins vs. Highland Rebels

The Pocahontas Redskins will head out to face off against the Highland Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pocahontas has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the fourth.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-30, which was the final score in Pocahontas' tilt against Brookland on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Bearcats are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland). They claimed a resounding 64-37 victory over Gosnell.

Highland pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Pocahontas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Things could have been worse for Pocahontas, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to Highland in their previous matchup on January 13th. Can Pocahontas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
