Basketball Game Preview: Mineral Wells Rams vs. Marion Bulldogs

The Mineral Wells Rams and the Marion Bulldogs will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The timing is sure in Mineral Wells' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Marion has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Mineral Wells' tournament run continued when they took on Lampasas on Friday. Mineral Wells came out on top against Lampasas by a score of 50-42.

Kahlea Samples continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mineral Wells' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Moore, who posted seven points and three steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-20, which was the final score in Marion's tilt against Lorena on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1214th, while the Leopards are ranked 86th).

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mineral Wells, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
