Baseball Game Preview: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Greeley West Spartans

For the second straight game, Loveland will face off against Greeley West. The Red Wolves will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Loveland's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Greeley West has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Loveland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over Greeley West on Tuesday. The Red Wolves have beaten the Spartans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.

Brady Cheever looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Alex Martin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Loveland: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Wes Bockelmann, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Loveland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley West struck out 11 times.

Loveland's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Greeley West, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
