Volleyball Recap: Lake of the Woods Wins Going Away Against Grygla-Gatzke

Lake of the Woods's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Grygla-Gatzke Eagles. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Lake of the Woods won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-18, 25-19.

Ava Haack paced Lake of the Woods' offense, picking up 11 kills. Haack got some help from Sophie Block and her 14 assists. Block also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kaylee Pieper, racking up four apiece.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Grygla-Gatzke, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lake of the Woods will be playing in front of their home fans against Warroad at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grygla-Gatzke, they will venture away from home to face off against Badger/Greenbush-Middle River at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
