Softball Recap: Lucas Find Success

While Lucas's win against Central Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cubs had just enough and edged out the Comets 11-9. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Maddie Boyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charlize Stinehour, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Brown, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lucas' record is now 5-7. As for Central Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucas will host Crestline at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Christian, they will be playing at home against Lake Center Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tiger have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
