Softball Recap: Nanakuli Golden Hawks vs. Kapolei Hurricanes
Nanakuli was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Kapolei Hurricanes, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in March.
Nanakuli saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaisha Barrozo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Barrozo hit this season. Another was Maria 'Momo' Felisi-Enriquez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Nanakuli's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Kapolei, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nanakuli is set to face off against their familiar foe Campbell at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kapolei will square off against rival Mililani at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
