Softball Game Preview: McHenry Warriors vs. Crystal Lake South Gators

The McHenry Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Crystal Lake South Gators at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Crystal Lake South took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on McHenry, who comes in off a win.

McHenry is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since May 2, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Lane Tech 10-9.

McHenry's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Bender, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Bender a new career-high. Another was Kendal Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-0 to LaSalle-Peru.

Crystal Lake South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for McHenry, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

McHenry took their victory against Crystal Lake South in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-4 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
