The McConnellsburg Spartans and the Northern Bedford County Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. McConnellsburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McConnellsburg beat North Star 45-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McConnellsburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hoyt Glenn, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Glenn a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Dominic Jefferson, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Northern Bedford County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 53-42 to Glendale. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly 11 points.
McConnellsburg will need focus on slowing down Wesley Horsh, one of several Northern Bedford County players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Norwood, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.
McConnellsburg pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Northern Bedford County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: McConnellsburg has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Northern Bedford County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
