Basketball Recap: Westside Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

WestSide entered their tilt with Wyoming East on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wyoming East Warriors by a score of 58-46. This was a revenge game for the Renegades: when they faced off against the Warriors back in January, they had to take a 57-45 defeat.

WestSide had a senior duo take command as Austin Bishop went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points and three steals and Bryson Blankenship went 8 for 11 to rack up 17 points. What's more, Blankenship also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Coltin Lester, who posted ten points.

WestSide pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 34.7% in those games and 26.4% outside of them. As for Wyoming East, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. WestSide will host Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully WestSide likes a good challenge. As for Wyoming East, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Summers County at 7:30 p.m.
