Softball Recap: York Triumphs

York won the last time they faced Addison Trail and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dukes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blazers, sneaking past 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dukes.

Sophia Lanciloti looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Lillianah (Lilly) Burda was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sara Steinecker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

York's record now sits at 10-3. As for Addison Trail, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will welcome Glenbard North at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Addison Trail, they will host Elgin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Maroons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.86 runs per game on average), something the Blazers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
