Softball Recap: Mandeville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Thibodaux typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Mandeville proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Tigers 10-1. The Skippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Mandeville got a great performance from Mia Baham as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Graefenstein, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Caroline Thornhill was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory was the third in a row for Mandeville, bringing their record up to 11-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Thibodaux, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Mandeville will be taking part in a tournament against E.D. White at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. E.D. White will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Mandeville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thibodaux, they will square off against Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Central Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something Thibodaux will no doubt try to take advantage of.
