Leon proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Aucilla Christian Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 27th.

Taylor Winfield was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Winfield was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cynthia Conte was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Kierstyn Fuller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Aucilla Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Leon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Madison County on the 17th. As for Aucilla Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against First Christian on the 17th.
