Basketball Recap: Garrett Comes Up Short

Garrett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 49-33 to the Westview Warriors. The Railroaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Westview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janissa Lehman, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Lehman continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Cory, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Garrett's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Westview, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garrett will host DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westview, they will welcome Central Noble at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Westview has won four straight at home, while Central Noble won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
