Baseball Game Preview: North Summit Braves vs. Millard Eagles

The North Summit Braves will head out to challenge the Millard Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North Summit might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-2 to Varsity Opponent, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Summit saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Preator, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Preator has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Millard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Delta, falling 18-3.

Millard's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

North Summit's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. North Summit has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Millard, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North Summit continue to outrun the ball?

Everything went North Summit's way against Millard when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as North Summit made off with a 19-5 win. Will North Summit repeat their success, or does Millard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
