Basketball Recap: Goliad's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Goliad's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 51-45 W over the Karnes City Badgers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-47 back in January.

Despite the loss, Karnes City had strong showings from Rodrick Vasquez, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, and Savion Nixon-Thompson, who put up 15 points and eight boards. Nixon-Thompson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Elizondo, who earned three points.

With the win, Goliad broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-14. As for Karnes City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-14.

Goliad will square off against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Karnes City, they will take on Nixon-Smiley at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Karnes City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.
