Basketball Recap: 19 Straight Home Wins for Holy Cross

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Holy Cross had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lakeland Chiefs 86-47. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lakeland lost, don't look at David Naniewicz. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-8 to rack up 16 points. Naniewicz is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Dylan Kopa was another key player, putting up nine points.

Holy Cross' victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Lakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Holy Cross wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-49 win against Elk Lake on the 22nd. Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
