Basketball Game Preview: Mountain Heritage Cougars vs. Avery County Vikings

Mountain Heritage has gone 8-2 against Avery County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Mountain Heritage Cougars will be playing at home against the Avery County Vikings at 7:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Mountain Heritage's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Avery County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Mountain Heritage is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Draughn 96-63. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Mountain Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayden Deyton, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists.

Meanwhile, Avery County played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Mitchell and fell 78-35. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mountain Heritage will have to keep a close watch on Kaleb Liner and Hank Johnson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Avery County's prior game.
