Baseball Recap: Fulshear Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Fulshear put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Alief Hastings. Fulshear was the clear victor by a 21-0 margin over Alief Hastings. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ty Powell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Riley Chamberlain was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Giametta, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Fulshear always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Fulshear, bringing their record up to 15-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.5 runs over those games. As for Alief Hastings, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Fulshear will be playing at home against Foster at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fulshear will need to watch out since Foster has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Alief Hastings, they will face off against Alief Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alief Taylor has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.2 runs per game on average), something Alief Hastings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
