Basketball Recap: Sparta Gets the Win

Sparta won the last time they faced Viroqua and things went their way on Friday too. The Sparta Spartans walked away with a 51-44 victory over the Viroqua Blackhawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Sparta found their leader in sophomore Abby Berendes, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana Leis, who earned eight points.

Sparta's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Viroqua, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will head out to challenge Holmen at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Viroqua, they will head out on the road to face off against Brookwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
