Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Pickens Blue Flame

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers will square off against the Pickens Blue Flame at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pickens took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Blue Ridge, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Blue Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Greer, taking the game 44-32. Given the Fighting Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 48-33 bruising from Seneca.

Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Pickens, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Everything came up roses for Blue Ridge against Pickens in their previous meeting on January 6th, as the team secured a 75-27 win. In that matchup, Blue Ridge amassed a halftime lead of 42-18, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
