Baseball Game Preview: Lynn Bears vs. Dora Bulldogs

The Lynn Bears will head out to challenge the Dora Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lynn's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Dora's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lynn fell victim to Oakman and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to the Wildcats. The match marked the first time this year in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Dora came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 11th.

Grayson Stephenson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024. Ashton Skalnik was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Dora's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Lynn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season.

Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lynn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Dora struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Lynn's way against Dora in their previous meeting back in February, as Lynn made off with an 18-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lynn since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
