Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

Canyon del Oro waltzed into their match on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Marana Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dorados also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Peyton Carson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Francisco Rivero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Tarrell Reid was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Canyon del Oro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marana only posted a batting average of .167.

Canyon del Oro pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Marana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Canyon del Oro will square off against Maricopa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marana, they will challenge Chandler at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
