Basketball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Homestead can now relate to. They fell to the Coral Park Rams 82-78. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (55), the Broncos still had to take the loss.

Angel Lara continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Coral Park, going 14 of 21 on his way to 41 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. The game was Lara's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jeremias Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Coral Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coral Park, they will face off against Southridge on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Southridge sitting on three straight wins and Coral Park on four.
