Volleyball Recap: Wilby Comes Up Short

Wilby lost against Woodland Regional back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Hawks. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-10.

Evelyn Roca-Raymundo paced Wilby's offense, picking up three kills. Roca-Raymundo got some help from Jannelyz Marin and her seven assists. Danielle Pottinger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wilby's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Woodland Regional, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Wilby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Waterbury Career Academy on the 26th. As for Woodland Regional, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Holy Cross on the 26th.
