Softball Recap: Alhambra Takes a Loss

Alhambra lost against Bell Gardens back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Alhambra fell 17-12 to Bell Gardens. The Moors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sofia Audelos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Salazar also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Audelos wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Bell Gardens, their record now sits at 10-7.

Looking ahead, Alhambra will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Sacred Heart of Jesus at 10:00 a.m. As for Bell Gardens, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mark Keppel at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. Mark Keppel's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Bell Gardens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
