Volleyball Recap: Presley Johnson Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only McKeel Academy walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Windermere Prep Lakers on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

McKeel Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Presley Johnson out in front who had 15 digs and ten aces. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Hope Ring was another key player, getting four aces and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: McKeel Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matchups.

McKeel Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Windermere Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

McKeel Academy will square off against Newberry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Windermere Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
