Basketball Game Preview: Warroad Warriors vs. Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines

Warroad is 0-3 against Wadena-Deer Creek since January of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Warroad Warriors will head out to take on the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Warroad knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Wadena-Deer Creek likes a good challenge.

Warroad will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 30) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 59-56 victory over Mora. The 59-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Wadena-Deer Creek's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Friday. They fell 77-64 to Frazee. The loss was the Wolverines' first of the season.

Wadena-Deer Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Warroad, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Warroad was dealt a bruising 93-51 loss at the hands of Wadena-Deer Creek in their previous matchup back in January of 2017. Can Warroad avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
