Gustine never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Millennium on Friday. They strolled past the Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 34-20. That's more bragging rights for the Reds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Joao Palomino and Crue Correa. Palomino rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only 11 carries while Correa rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown.
Gustine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only rushed for 81 rushing yards.
Despite the loss, Millennium had strong showings from Ares Araujo, who threw for 92 yards and three touchdowns, and Suhaib Sweilem, who picked up 64 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
The win got Gustine back to even at 1-1.
Gustine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-13 victory against Riverbank on the 5th. As for Millennium, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-0 defeat against Waterford on the 5th.
