Basketball Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. Centennial Rams

Questa has gone a perfect 3-0 against Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Questa's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Centennial's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Questa is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 64-16 victory over Coronado. With the Wildcats ahead 34-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Alyse Lovato was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double with 18 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ana Cisneros, who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Questa was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Centennial might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Trinidad an easy 68-44 win. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost four in a row.

Questa pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 54.6 points this season. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Questa against Centennial in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 53-13 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
