Baseball Recap: Hope Christian's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hope Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Del Norte on Friday. The Huskies never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Pena was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Hunter Solwick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base.

Hope Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Hope Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-9. As for Del Norte, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21-1.

Coming up, Hope Christian will face off against Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
