Basketball Recap: Colorado Springs School Kodiaks vs. Dolores Huerta Prep Scorpions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Simla, the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Dolores Huerta Prep. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Colorado Springs School also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Artrell Mccullar, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Mccullar hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Zech Maldonado, who scored eight points.
Colorado Springs School's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Dolores Huerta Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colorado Springs School will square off against the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dolores Huerta Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Peyton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scorpions in Colorado (the Panthers are ranked 116th, while the Scorpions are ranked 264th).
