Volleyball Game Preview: Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders vs. John Paul II Guardians

The Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the John Paul II Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Round Rock Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Round Rock Christian Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Hyde Park on Thursday. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Round Rock Christian Academy never let Hyde Park on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 26-24.

Meanwhile, John Paul II didn't have quite enough to beat Incarnate Word Academy last Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Guardians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Angels 25-9 in the first set.

John Paul II took Incarnate Word Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 9-25, 25-14, 25-18, 21-25, 15-8.

Round Rock Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 34-14. As for John Paul II, their defeat dropped their record down to 35-6.

Round Rock Christian Academy came up short against John Paul II when the teams last played back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
