Baseball Game Preview: Manheim Central Barons vs. Warwick Warriors

The Manheim Central Barons will head out to challenge the Warwick Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Manheim Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Manheim Central earned a 4-1 victory over Octorara Area.

Tanner Travitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter Kyle was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Book, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Warwick's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Conestoga Valley by a score of 4-3.

Manheim Central's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Warwick, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Manheim Central beat Warwick 5-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Barons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
